The cover for the first book was incredibly beautiful and, don't get me wrong, I love this cover, but it's not as amazing. I love all the colors and the little details, but the guy isn't doing it for me. I imagined Morpheus to be much more attractive than this guy. Maybe if they chose a different model I would have liked it better...
I guess I should get to the actual book now!
Time has passed since Alyssa had her adventure in Wonderland, but things aren't over. She wants to just graduate high school and then go to a prestigious art school in London. However, Morpheus has other plans. He comes back, stealing the body of some unsuspecting human, something about Netherlings not being able to show their true form in the human world, and tells Alyssa that she's not done. Even though Morpheus is there, Jeb doesn't know. He just thinks that it is an acquaintance of Alyssa. He doesn't know that it's Morpheus because he doesn't remember ever going to Wonderland.
I was annoyed with Alyssa in this book. She just needed to accept the madness and become queen like she was meant to be. And be with Morpheus of course.
Jeb still pisses me off. Especially since he seemed to be really focused on having sex with Alyssa. Then Alyssa says something about Jeb lost his virginity when he was 16 to an 18 or 19 year old girl. Isn't that statutory rape or something? I think it is where I live...
Anyways, Jeb is just stupid during the entire time. As usual. Alyssa eventually tells him about Wonderland, and he seems strangely accepting of it. Morpheus warns Alyssa that Red is back, but she still doesn't want to do anything about it. Even when poor little Rabid White comes to see her. Although I imagine him as being incredibly creepy looking, he seems so cute. Like you could cuddle him.
The love triangle was entertaining but irritating. It was funny watching Jeb get so riled up by Morpheus simply being there, but he just got so over dramatic. Like, really dude, calm yourself.
Really, Jeb. No one likes a pissy boyfriend.
Then a bunch of stuff happened. I don't want to give it away. But the ending. The ending.
Alyssa
Gardner has been down the rabbit hole and faced the bandersnatch. She saved
the life of Jeb, the guy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the
disturbingly seductive Morpheus and the vindictive Queen Red. Now all she has
to do is graduate high school and make it through prom so she can attend the
prestigious art school in London she's always dreamed of.
That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious. And it would be much simpler if the mysterious Morpheus didn’t show up for school one day to tempt her with another dangerous quest in the dark, challenging Wonderland—where she (partly) belongs. As prom and graduation creep closer, Alyssa juggles Morpheus’s unsettling presence in her real world with trying to tell Jeb the truth about a past he’s forgotten. Glimpses of Wonderland start to bleed through her art and into her world in very disturbing ways, and Morpheus warns that Queen Red won’t be far behind. If Alyssa stays in the human realm, she could endanger Jeb, her parents, and everyone she loves. But if she steps through the rabbit hole again, she'll face a deadly battle that could cost more than just her head. |

Need Ensnared NOW!!!!!
Alyssa
Accept your queenly responsibilities. And get with Morpheus.
Morpheus
Team Morpheus forever!
Jeb
Go fuck off.
Overall, with that cliffhanger, I need Ensnared ASAP. Like, REALLY. I don't think I could handle it if anything happens to Morpheus. My poor little heart couldn't take it. And now I wait...
