Top Ten Tuesday #62: Ten Books Set Outside the US

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Week's Topic:
Ten Books Set Outside the US

1.
Passenger (Passenger, #1)
While the book starts off in the US, Etta and Nicholas spend most of the book traveling from country to country, with places in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

2.
A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1)
All of the places visited here are London, but different versions set in different worlds.

3.
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)
Even though it does have fantasy elements, it's still set in a futuristic dystopian China, France, Sahara Desert, and Moon.

4.
Starflight (Starflight, #1)
I'd say that being set in outer space would be pretty outside of the US.

5.
The Falconer (The Falconer, #1)
This is the only book I've read set in Scotland, and I hope to find more set there as it's incredibly beautiful!

6.
Valkyrie Rising (Valkyrie, #1)
I don't know of any other books set in Norway, but I'd like to find more.

7.
The Madman’s Daughter (The Madman’s Daughter, #1)
I really loved this series and it's set in England, the South Pacific, and Scotland in total.

8.
Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)
Yes, the first book is set in Philadelphia, but the second and third are set in France and Egypt respectively.

9.
The Gathering Storm (Katerina, #1)
I loved this series, as it was set in Imperial Russia, a setting that I'm absolutely obsessed with.

10.
Splintered (Splintered, #1)
Even though it begins in Texas, I'd say that it's mostly set in Wonderland, and I loved the creepiness of it.

So here are some of the books I've read that are set outside of the US. I have read a few more, but overall I haven't read that many. I'm hoping to read more books set in new places.

Top Ten Tuesday #59: Ten Series I Still Need to Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Week's Topic:
Ten Series I Still Need to Finish

1.
Allegiant (Divergent, #3)
I have no idea as to whether or not I'll read this book, especially with how it ends. Maybe one day.

2.
Emerald Green (Precious Stone Trilogy, #3)
I read the first two books a couple years ago, so I'm not so sure how well I'll remember what happened...

3.
Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3)
Same as above.

4.
The Nightmare Charade (The Arkwell Academy, #3)
I actually read the second books relatively recently (as in last year), so I think I remember everything.

5.
Oblivion (Lux, #1.5)
I love this series, and was so excited to hear about this book, but I'm kind of bummed that the physical copy doesn't have all of the books in Daemon's point of view. I'd be cool with a 1,000+ page book.

6.
Through the Dark (The Darkest Minds, #1.5, #2.5, #3.5)
Yeah, it's a collection of short stories, but I still consider it a part of the series. I bought it recently and can't wait to dive right in, but I'm not ready for the feels to possibly come back.

7.
Untamed (Splintered, #3.5)
Same as above, but I have yet to buy the book. But I did read one of the short stories, The Moth in the Mirror, when it was just an ebook.

8.
Stolen (Taken, #0.5)
While I was disappointed by the trilogy, I do want to read Bree's story, as she was one of the few things I liked about it.

9.
Champion (Legend, #3)
I started this one, but had to return it back to the library before I could finish it. However I do want to read it soon.

10.
Requiem (Delirium, #3)
Same as above.

As you can see, I haven't finished many series, and these are just a few. I have a huge list of series that I need to finish, and I'm hoping to make some progress on that list this year!

Top Ten Tuesday #43: Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This Week's Topic:
Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year
1.
The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)
Complete The Darkest Minds trilogy, signed from ApollyCon (even if I won't get it until February)
2.
Taken (Taken, #1)
I'm only about 25% in, but it's really interesting and I loved Vengeance Road (I'd also want this one signed from ApollyCon)
3.
Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1)
I tried this one a year or so ago and it didn't click, but I'm willing to try it again since I've heard positive things!
4.
Wicked (A Wicked Saga, #1)
I REALLY liked this one, and I need to add to my JLA collection!
5.
Evertrue (Everneath, #3)
I have the first two, and all I need is this one!
6.
The Cage (The Cage, #1)
I loved this one and just need to add it to my shelves!
7.
Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)
I need to read the last book, Boundless, but I'd love to have the full trilogy!
8.
The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1)
This one sounds really good, and maybe I'll finally get around to reading it!
9.
The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)
I keep meaning to read this book because I've only heard positive things! Can't wait to read it!
10.
Untamed (Splintered, #3.5)
I loved the Splintered trilogy, and can't wait to read the epilogue and other short stories!

So there are the books I'd love to wake up on Christmas morning and find under my tree! Some I've read and some I haven't, but either way it'd be adding to my bookshelves!

10.
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow
Reason: After agreeing to stay with a polar bear for a year, she must save him from a troll princess who plans to marry him. Also, this is one of the stories that ACOTAR pulls elements from. review

Most of these have elements similar to ToG or ACOTAR, whether it be a retelling, fantasy, or magic. I highly recommend all of them!
