Feature and Follow #30

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

This Week's Question:
Pick three book characters... Kiss? Marry? Kill?

Really? REALLY? I have no clue how to answer this!

Kiss: Chaol (ToG)-I'm currently mad at him.

Marry: Morpheus (Splintered)-Who wouldn't want to be in creepy Wonderland with him?

Kill: Jace (TMI)-I immediately disliked him from Page 1, or whatever page we met him on.

Feature and Follow #29

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

This Week's Question:
If you could have any job, what would you do?

Can I choose some dream jobs? I don't think I'd want to stick to just one.

1. Writer. I want to be able to actually have time to sit down and write and focus solely on that.
2. Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher. Well... this is what I'm studying in college, so of course I want it to be a part of my career.
3. Professional reader. Can this please be a thing. I want to be paid to read books I love!
4. Professional food eater. Let me eat my favorite foods and pay me money for it. Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and cookie dough all day!

I want all of these jobs.

What would your dream job be?

Feature and Follow #28

This Week's Question:
Share a random quote from the book you are currently reading.

I don't have my book with me right now, so let me check Goodreads for a quote!

"Thanks for the rescue."
"Everyone needs a hobby."
"I thought yours was preening."
"Two hobbies."
~Leigh Bardugo, "Ruin and Rising"

I love the banter between the characters so much!

Feature and Follow #27

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

This Week's Question:
If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would you pick? Fictional ones count too!

Well I currently have cats and I love them, but if I could have any pet, I think it'd be a unicorn. Unicorns are pretty cool. I've always wanted one. But if it had to be a REAL animal it'd probably be a zebra or a panda or a koala. They're cute.

If you could have any pet, what would it be?

Feature and Follow #26

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

I was actually the featured blogger this week so here is the interview!

1. When did you start blogging?
I started about 2 years ago, but let it fall by the wayside until January of this year. That's when I actually started putting more effort into it.

2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
My favorite part is meeting people who feel the same way about boks as me. It's great being able to discuss and fangirl over books together!

3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I focus primarily on young adult fantasy and paranormal. There is also some romance and science fiction there too!

4. What are your favorite books?
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard, The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd, Splintered by A.G. Howard, anything by Jodi Meadows. I could probably post more, but I'll stop!

5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of blogging?
Pretty much the same as my favorite part of blogging answer. Being able to interact with other bloggers and even authors. It's so cool that an author that is a favorite of mine responds to one of my tweets! I just love being able to meet and interact with others who love the same books as me!

This Week's Question:
If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be?

Is this solely book-related then I guess these would be my 3 (book) wishes:
1. Truthwitch ARC. In my hands. NOW. I just really want this book so badly. It's Susan Dennard, so of course I know I'll love it.
2.  The ability to write reviews quicker. I am SOOO slow at writing them. I really wish I could write them faster.
3. The ability to get my butt in gear when writing my own work. I just stare at my WIP and my mind goes blank. I need to get my act together.

If I'm wrong and this isn't book-related, then I guess these would be my wishes:
1. Enough money to cover college tuition, a new car, and bills for the next 15 years. I won't go to crazy and ask for unlimited money.
2. A guarantee that I'd make it into one of the grad schools that I really want to go to for my Master's (Dance Movement Therapy). Wish 1 covers tuition.
3. All of the book-related wishes.

What are your wishes?

This Weeks Question:
If you could get an ARC of any book, already published, or not yet, what would it be?
Truthwitch. No questions asked, no hesitations. That's all I want. I'd sell my soul for an ARC of that book. I CANNOT wait to read it.
Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)
Six of Crows is another ARC that I'd love to get my hands on. I still have to read Ruin and Rising, but I love this trilogy and cannot wait for this spinoff!
There are so many other ARCs that I'd love to get my hands on, some where the book has been released others where the book hasn't.
By the way, I recently got an Instagram account. I'm still learning how to use it, but here it is!
As you can see, I also changed the name of my blog. It was previously Lizzie the Sarcastic Blonde, and I discuss the change in this blog post.
What ARC(s) would you like to have?

Feature and Follow #25

This Weeks Question:
If you had the money what would your own personal library look like? What would be in it? What colors, decorations, etc would you put in it?

I've seen so many ideas that I've loved on Pinterest, I might as well just post them!
Do you have a 2 story family room? Have you ever thought about this? Quite interesting!Super cute home library with a seating area! | pins for your home
Dream nook! OR .. add doors to enclose the space for use as a guest bed, office, kid's play room or even a secret room (just make the doors into swinging book shelves).

I'd love to have some funky bookshelves (there's one from Target that has different shaped shelves that I love), lots of windows for sunlight and great views (I'd love to live in a big city), and lots of quotes about books on the walls with some artwork. Oh, and tons of blankets and pillows for me to curl up in! And the colors would be black , turquoise, and purple! Strange combination, but they're my favorite.

Feature and Follow #24

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

This Weeks Question:
You can only eat one cuisine type for the rest of your life. Which would you choose? (E.g. Italian, French, Greek, Mexican, Chinese, Indian etc...)

This question is so painful. Can I choose a few? I usually have to choose food mostly off of what I can eat since I'm a vegetarian. And a lot of these food choices come with meat, so it can be hard to find meat-free options.
I love Italian because I love pasta and pizza so much. Carbs are beautiful. But I'm a vegetarian and most dishes come with meat, so I don't get much protein. Japanese is awesome because who doesn't love sushi? Even if the only thing I eat are vegetable rolls that have asparagus, avocado, and carrot. Maybe I'd have to go with Chinese then. Lots of dishes have tofu, so I know I can get protein, or just don't have meat. There's a Chinese restaurant near my house and I love their fried bean curd (tofu) with vegetables and their steamed vegetable dumplings. Yeah, I guess Chinese is my pick.

What's your favorite type of food?

Feature and Follow #23

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee's View.

This Weeks Question:
What is the first book you remember reading?

I don't remember what my first book was, but it was probably Bernstein Bears (however you spell it) or Dr. Suess. I remember going to the library with my mom and piking out a bunch of books, whether I could read them or not, and then getting my own library card when I was four. After nearly 16 years, it's pretty worn out!

What was the first book you read?

This Weeks Question:
Is there are book you were required to read in school that you actually liked?

I'm having trouble remembering everything I read in high school. This is just reminding me that I graduated two years ago and I'm getting old...
Anyway I think one of my favorite books I had to read for school was Brave New World. It was just so weird to me that even in the 30s there was dystopian books. The recreational sex, lack of natural reproduction, and drug use were also surprising for the time it was published.
I actually kind of liked Romeo and Juliet only because my teacher did an amazing job at explaining everything and her commentary was hilarious!

Did you have a favorite book that you had to read for school?

This Weeks Question:
If you can step into one character's shoes (in a book) an be them for a day who would it be and why? Also if you want to be creative what scene?

Hmmmm. This is a hard question. I would have to say Luna from Harry Potter. She's my absolute favorite character from this series. And Ravenclaw is always the close second when I get sorted into the houses. Slytherin is always first! Cue awkward hissing snake noises.

This Weeks Question:
How would you pitch to the biz to make your favorite book into a movie?

I have quite a few favorite books, so it'd be hard to choose just one. I would probably say something along the lines of, "This book is amazing. Make a movie of it. And it has to have everything in it and be perfect! Now go do it!"
Yeah, not a super great way to pitch a movie, but if I say that I love it then they HAVE to make a perfect movie! :)

This Weeks Question:
How many books do you have on your TBR list?

Cue awkward, embarrassing giggle. I've been looking through everyone else's FF, and it looks like mine is A LOT bigger than there's. I do want to add that when I started my GoodReads account, I was a lot more into contemporary stuff than I am now. So I have a lot of that genre in there and I will likely never read those books. My read shelf is over 400, so that makes me feel a little better.
So here it is, my TBR size: 2,522.
**I've since started cleaning my list. I've removed over 600 so it's below 1,900 and I'm still cleaning!
I want to one day go through that list and remove all the books that I don't think that I will ever read. I also have a bunch of manga in there, which I can usually read pretty quickly.
Don't make me feel too bad, I already feel really embarrassed sharing this number?

What's your TBR list length?

This Weeks Question:
How do you write your reviews?

Ohhhhh this is a fun question to answer. I try to keep myself on track, that's the best way to say it. I always make sure to discuss the important characters, as they can make or break a book. There have been times when I didn't discuss them at the end, like I usually do, but that was because I was just so annoyed by them and didn't want to think about them. I try to discuss the romance, if there is a love triangle, and how big the romance is in the story. I try to talk about the plot, which can be hard because I don't want to give away spoilers.
It sometimes takes me a while to post reviews after I read a book. Sometimes I'll do it in the following few days, other times it's a couple weeks. All depends on my schedule. I have so many reviews that I need to catch up on, it's kind of daunting...
