This Weeks Question:
How do you write your reviews?

Ohhhhh this is a fun question to answer. I try to keep myself on track, that's the best way to say it. I always make sure to discuss the important characters, as they can make or break a book. There have been times when I didn't discuss them at the end, like I usually do, but that was because I was just so annoyed by them and didn't want to think about them. I try to discuss the romance, if there is a love triangle, and how big the romance is in the story. I try to talk about the plot, which can be hard because I don't want to give away spoilers.
It sometimes takes me a while to post reviews after I read a book. Sometimes I'll do it in the following few days, other times it's a couple weeks. All depends on my schedule. I have so many reviews that I need to catch up on, it's kind of daunting...

  1. Hopping through. Sometimes I post a review as soon as I finish a book and sometimes I don't post it for a few months. It all depends. I should be more organized.

  3. Oh wow. I can't let reviews pile up in the need to write them scheme of things. I need to write mine right away so I don't forget any details! But yeah, even scheduling some, like ARCs gets daunting! There are times when I have multiple books releasing the same day and I try packing them in all the week before the book comes out and soon you'll see a review just a day or two before it releases!

I would love to start my review on A Court of Thorns and Roses, but I really wanna re-read the book again and for doing that, I need to wait to get my paperback... which still hasn't come into my bookshop yet....

  6. I'm such a perfectionist that it takes me a while to think of what to write and then I just hope that I can get it down the way I had it in my head.

  8. I completely understand Lizzie! I'm awful when it comes to writing my reviews. Right now I have 11 to do, and I have a bunch scheduled already on the blog so it will be a few weeks before these even show up!

  10. I agree, having to write so many reviews can get daunting. That's why I always try and write them a few hours after finishing the book! Although sometimes that doesn't happen. Particularly when I if I have a lot of feelings about a certain book.

  11. I agree; reviews can indeed be daunting! That's why I sometimes put off writing mine for several day, lol. But I do enjoy writing them, just the same! It's just such a nice feeling, being able to express your views about a book, whether it's fiction or nonfiction!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'll be watching out for your reviews! New GFC follower!! : )

  12. It’s so incredibly hard not to go into spoilers in a teaser. I also aim at writing that review immediately after reading a book, but then there are other times, where I cannot grasp my thoughts or emotions and I have to let it all settle ha ha! Old follower <3

  15. Some reviews take so much longer than others do! I'm obsessed with being organised so I usually always get my reviews written as soon as I finish (or the next day if I finish late) but it's a struggle sometimes!

    Thanks for visiting :)

  16. I don't always have a set number of elements I discuss in a book, it all just depends on what I respond to in the books. Characters and pacing I do always try to mention though.

  17. Great answer!! I get behind on my reviews sometimes too, especially on those books where I'm really indecisive on how to rate them.

    1. Sometimes I switch the rating multiple times because I just keep thinking about the book over and over and can't make up my mind.

  18. Sometimes I get stuck on a particular review and take forever to produce it, especially when I really like a book because I have to edit so much. Usually, the words will come to me at a random time when I'm not racking my brain about what to write!

    1. It's really hard to find that balance between discussing what happens and not giving away important events.
