For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without.
Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

I really wanted to love this book. It wasn't bad, but I didn't love it. I feel like I have seen SOOOOO many glowing reviews of this author's work, so I feel like I'll love it, but I don't. I couldn't get into The Raven Cycle, and so many people seemed to be gushing about it. I feel like the odd girl out. And it makes me really sad.

This book was really interesting, but many of the characters seemed bland. Sam was boring. I know that he is supposed to be this angsty teenage werewolf boy, but he could still have a personality. Grace made up for his lack of personality, but only a teeny tiny bit. She was also pretty angsty, but would be happy sometimes. The only character that actually seemed to have some substance to them was Isabel, and I don't think she was in there enough. She actually said what she thought, even if it wasn't always the nicest.

I read this book like a year and a half ago, so I don't remember all that much. I probably didn't remember too much even soon after I read it. It was just...

(Even though I'm not a Nicki Minaj fan, her GIFs are amazing.)

I just wanted to love it.

Please... come back...

Looking back, I realize that I wasn't interested in it even more than I remember.

Grace
Meh, she had some personality. Not too boring, but still kinda bland.

Sam
I feel like we were told so many times about how he has such a sad face, like a puppy dog.

Isabel
Only one with personality. Just sayin'.

Overall, this book could have been AMAZING, had the characters had more personality. Boring characters tend to equal boring story.

    1. I feel like Grace and Sam are kind of dull. I mostly read the series for Isabel. She had the most personality.
